Get Your REO in Tip-Top Shape...

REO RepairIt’s understandable that most REO investors want to purchase and sell a property as fast as possible.  But even if an REO property is in good condition there are some basic repairs that every investor should make if they want to get their money’s worth when selling the property.

A Professional Paint Job

No matter how good the condition of your REO property, you really need to do a paint job before reselling it.  Painting walls and ceilings will make the REO property more appealing and attract more buyers.  A professional paint job will also cover up small defects and blemishes that can make a big difference for the average buyer.  And finally, if there is old wallpaper remove it for a more polished look.

Resurface or Refinish Furnishing

If there is a wood fireplace or countertops which are damaged, make an investment in having them repaired.  If you have taken the time to develop relationships with vendors, the cost won’t amount to much but it will go a long way in increasing the appeal of the REO property.

Repair or Replace Damaged Flooring

If floors are damaged don’t try to sell your REO property without replacing them.  Replacing floors doesn’t have to break the bank, simply applying plywood flooring can make a huge difference in the appearance of your REO property.

Professional Cleaning

A deep cleaned property can impress prospective buyers.  Make sure cleaners scrub tiles, polish handles and clean every crevice and corner of the property.
